On Main Off Main Keeps It Fun and Quirky

When looking for gifts and cards, where do you tend to visit? A Hallmark store? Or maybe the “big box” route (i.e. Target or Walmart)? Instead, why not supporting your local gay gift-and-curio-shoppe?

When you’re looking for something fun, unique, and maybe a little offbeat, the best place to visit is definitely On Main Off Main (120 W. Mistletoe at Main St.). For 28 years, Oscar Camacho and Bill Davis have proudly operated in the Tobin Hill/Monte Vista area -- the heart of the “gayborhood.” They offer plenty of fun and interesting items, some of which you just can’t find anywhere else!

Every time I go into the store to buy coffee or get a gift basket for a friend, Oscar and Bill are ready to help with a smile. “We’re proud of where we are and glad to be a part of expanding the gay community by providing gift ideas to people,” said Oscar when I visited and picked up a pound of “Oscar’s Blend” -- a locally roasted coffee variety. “We have a great collection of candles, books, cards, gifts, and greeting cards, many of which are unique to the store and great for gift-giving celebrations.”

One of our favorite couples recently took a tour of the store and found plenty of reasons to remember why On Main Off Main has exactly what you want to spice up a party or get a gift idea. We especially recommend you check out their fabulous selection of coffee, chocolates, cards, and festive Dia de los Muertos items!
